Wondering where to buy firewood in Fort Collins besides local convenience and grocery stores?
Here at the Koi Lagoon in Fort Collins, we can take care of your firewood needs whether you need a full cord of firewood or just a small bundle of kindling. We buy truck loads of logs from various local logging companies and process these down into split firewood. Our firewood processor cuts each log into rounds roughly 16 inches long and then splits each round into manageable pieces perfect for fire pits, fireplaces, wood-burning stoves, and whatever else for which you may need firewood.
If you can't fit our standard size firewood into your stove or need smaller pieces for another reason, we can prepare a custom order for a small labor fee! We have also done custom cuts for other purposes, such as tall rounds for backyard tables, flats for wedding centerpieces, and more. Give us a call or visit us to discuss your custom firewood order.
We also offer firewood delivery for just $4.00 per mile one way, which means you will only pay for the trip from our shop to your delivery location.
Most of our firewood is mixed pine and other coniferous species such as fir and spruce, but we occasionally have other species for sale, such as aspen.

*A note on firewood delivery: We can only deliver quantities of 1/4 Cord or more. Our dump truck is designed to carry one full cord of firewood, but we can deliver up to two cords with a trailer.

Q: What kind of firewood does The Koi Lagoon sell?
A: The majority of our firewood is mixed pine (which may include spruce, fir, and similar varieties).

Q: How do I place a firewood order?
A: The best way to place a wood order is to call us or visit our store.
Please do not place orders using the website contact form or our email address as they may get lost in our inbox.
Q: Does the Koi Lagoon offer firewood delivery?
A: We do offer delivery on orders containing 1/4 cord or more of firewood. We charge a per-mile delivery fee one way (which means you only pay for the mileage to your delivery location, not the mileage back.)
Q: How much firewood is in a proper cord?
A: One proper cord measures 4 feet by 4 feet by 8 feet, which means one cord is 128 cubic feet of neatly stacked firewood. To ensure our customers get what they pay for, we stack our wood into pre-measured bins. It takes two of our largest 1/2 cord bins to create a full cord.
Q: Do I have to load my own firewood if I pick it up from the shop?
A: Yes. If you are picking wood up, it is expected that you will load it into your vehicle yourself. If you are not capable of doing so, we recommend bringing a friend along to load with/for you or placing an order for firewood delivery so we can dump it in a predetermined location.
Q: When I get my firewood delivery, will Koi Lagoon staff stack it out?
A: No. Delivered firewood is dumped into a pile. It is the responsibility of the customer to relocate and organize the wood from there. If you are unable to do so, we recommend finding help among family or friends.
Q: Do I take the wood bin?
A: No, just the firewood itself. We stack into bins to offer properly sized cords, 1/2 cords, etc., but the bins themselves are not for sale.
Q: I use firewood to heat my home in the winter. When is the best time to place a large wood order of one or more cords?
A: If you will be relying on firewood as your home's primary heat source during the winter season, it is always best to start stocking up on firewood as early as possible, up to a year prior to when you plan to burn it. The latest we recommend placing these types of orders is the summer before, say June or July. We fulfill wood orders as far into the winter season as possible, but our stock often fluctuates as the cold weather moves in.

Q: What is a chunk bin?
Our best firewood value comes from our chunk bins of firewood for sale. We fill these bins with pieces that do not stack nicely into our other bins, such as log ends, knots, and twisty pieces. Chunk bins are perfect for a fire pit or bon fire as they often include larger pieces than our standard splits.
Q: I can't fit the standard 16-inch pieces into my wood burning stove. Can you cut shorter pieces?
A: Of course! If our standard 16-inch pieces won't work for you, we can offer you a custom cut firewood order for a small labor fee. Simply give us a call or drop by to place your custom-cut firewood order.
